What it is
A Copilot Pack is a small download you buy once.
Inside it are files your IT person drops into a code folder your team already uses. From then on, GitHub Copilot Chat has a new helper in it. That helper knows the federal record rules for your line of work.
You ask it for a record. It asks you for the facts. It writes the draft and shows the rule text next to each field. Then it stops and asks a person to check the draft.
It is not a service we run for you. Nothing links to your systems. Nothing is filed on your behalf.
Why
Federal record rules do not care how busy the week was. The record is there or it is not. A pack turns "we will write that up later" into a draft in the same hour the work happened.
The rule text is long, it moves, and it is written for lawyers. A pack ships the rule text with it, pinned to a stated issue date, so the answer does not depend on who is in the office.
Some cases the rule does not decide. Our packs list those cases by name and tell the helper to say so instead of making something up. That is the whole reason the drafts are worth checking.

Yes, and it is not included. You buy it from GitHub, and GitHub sets its price. You also need Visual Studio Code with the Copilot Chat extension, signed in to an account with an active Copilot plan.
Not the same thing, and this is worth thirty seconds. Most of our customers run their business on Microsoft 365 or Dynamics 365. Their Copilot lives there. These packs install into GitHub Copilot. That is a separate product with a separate licence. They run in Visual Studio Code with the Copilot Chat extension. We do not sell a Microsoft 365 or Dynamics 365 install today. There is no Teams gateway, single sign-on or admin console in a pack. Want this inside your Microsoft rollout? That is a different conversation, and we are happy to have it.
